Nye EU-regler for behandling i udlandet

Jeg læser en masse bekymring fra læge- og politikerside over alle de danskere, der nu vil søge behandling i udlandet.
Men tænk over, at ordning gælder begge veje. Når vore ministre fortæller, hvor fantastisk et sundhedsvæsen, vi har, må vi da glæde os over de store strømme af udenlandske statsborgere, der nu vil søge til danske hospitaler og her blive behandlet hurtigt, moderne, effektivt.
Bare vi nu har kapacitet til det..

”survivors” after firing rounds - how handle?

It`s obvious that these survivors are in considerable risk of high stress level and that this condition lasts for several years.
It is likewise well known that firing rounds demand high attention from leaders. It is fully understandable that these leaders just after completion are tempted to lean back with sigh of relief.
BUT we know that such greater changes are considered the highest risk of organizational stress with all the unlucky consequences we know about.


Here is a piece of advice for leadership during and after the firing rounds:
· Attention to the increasing stress level must be top of your mind
· Be aware that your employees are in an emotional imbalance with activation of the

complete set of emotions.
o Guilt – Including “Survivor guilt” from not being fired..
o Feeling hurt which secondarily may lead to bitterness
o Fear which may lead to anxiety
o Melancholy which may lead to depression
o Anger which may lead to constant irritability.

SO:


· Create circumstances for your employees to talk about these emotional effects
· Arrange a “speakers corner”
· Hire some expert on stress to create a common language of stress and who can
· Provide the individuals with a bunch of stress-reducing initiatives.

The aim for these whole process is to create a collaboration between leaders and employees to establish a reasonable quality of work life balance – even after firing rounds.

Fyringer

Mange mennesker, der "overlever" en fyringsrunde, rammes af stress. Over alle de forandringer, der nu sker. Nye kolleger, andre ledere, nye omgivelser, frygt for fremtiden og måske nye fyringer - og mange andre ting.
Men oven i alt dette finder vi meget ofte en skyldfølelse over IKKE at være fyret.
Måske er din bedste ven blevet fyret og nu er det lige før, du skammer dig over stadig at have dit job.
Denne "Survivor Guilt" er en ren følelsesmæssig belastning, som mange holder for sig selv. Men følelsen er almindelig og det er vigtigt at få sat ord på de følelser, vi bærer rundt på i sådanne vanskelige tider.

Firing is risk factor for death from heart disease

A finnish study made by Vahtera et al. and published in 2004 states out, at among 22430 employees, who kept their job after downsizing of their company, the risk for dying from ischæmic heart disease was 50% higher during the next 7,5 years.
This xas the result of what is called minor downsizing 12-18% of the total staff.
Major downsizing (more than 18%) made the risk of heart-death rize to 70% during the 7,5-years period.

This is serious. A lot of companies are downsizing right now and personally I hold these companies responsible for taking very good care of their employees after a firing round.
